​Face Lifting

Rhytidectomy or face lift surgery usually involves the removal of excess facial skin, with or without the tightening of underlying tissues, and the redraping of the skin on the patient’s face and neck so that to give a more youthful facial appearance. 
The surgery doesn’t stop the ageing process but in fact reverse the clock and ensures a rejuvenation. Ageing clock is reversed but the process will continue to its course. Some cases may have surgery again in 7-15 years, some others don’t need another face lifting surgery.

the aging face not only loses skin elasticity and develops looser droopy skin, but also loses fat and muscle tone. This creates increasing and deep wrinkles on the face. We call that face ageing of the face. Face lift surgery is all about cutting the facial drooped skin from proper sites and streching the skin from the sides toward up and backward and then cutting the excess and then redraped it. Of course, as in all surgeries there are some very important key points to this surgery. 

One of the most important point is that the protection of the facial nevre. This nerve is divided into very thin branches on both cheeks and extends deeper under the skin.

Surgical scar starting in the hair or hairline above and in front of the ear (the temporal region) and then it’s is extended downward in front of the ear, comes under the ear and then upward behind the ear ending in the hair or hairline behind the ear. The only visible part of the scar is in front of the ear. Therefore it’s seen with very thin sutures in order to left very little scar. Most of the patients are can get back to their work in 2-3 weeks. For important social activities;  patients should wait 4 -8 weeks. There will be bruises and swellings after the surgery. 

Blefaroplasty / Eyelid Surgery  

Ageing, gravity and genetic factors causes some changes on the lower and upper eyelids in time that make the individual look older, tired and sleepy.

On the other hand looks have a great importance in any field of life. No one wants to look at other people with tired and sleepy eyes, regardless of identities of other people. These changes formed on the eyelids are some bags caused by herniation of the excess of skin, muscle and fat tissues. In some cases all of these changes take place.  

And in some cases there is only skin excess or bag formation. Sometimes skin excess reaches such a level that may affect the field of view. Depending on the condition of the patient, just upper or lower eyelid or in some cases both eyelids can be operated at the same time.
The surgery takes around 1 or 1,5 hours. It’s possible to be discharged at the same day. Anesthesia can be local, seduction, or general. Upper lid incision is naturally made on the fold. Therefore, only small trace would be left. Conventional lower eyelid incision is made right under the eyelashes. With eligible people this incision can be made inside the eyelid (transconjuctival).

Bruises disappear within one week. Sutures are removed on the 4th or 5th day. Swellings gradually disappear within a month. After the surgery individual gains younger and succulent looks. Results would be more permanent and satisfactory when the surgery is performed together with eyebrow lift surgery.
