Spring and autumn are the best times to visit Turkey, as the climate is almost perfect in Istanbul. Visiting before mid-June or after August may also help you avoid mosquitoes. The Black Sea coast is best visited between April and September; there will still be rain but not so much of it.
Light, cotton summer clothing and cardigans for evening are suggested along the Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. Along the Black Sea, Central and Eastern Anatolia, summer wear, warmer clothing should be taken for cool evenings at high altitudes. Comfortable shoes are necessary for visiting archeological and historical sites. Sun hats and sunglasses are advisable in the summer. Women for visiting mosques should wear headscarves.
